Perfect Liars Club Tokyo at Good Heavens on 7th December 2019
OFF THE CHARTS!!! I’m still buzzing from the SOLD OUT Xmas Party special show on Saturday. A magically charged audience, a brilliant cast of Suspects and so many Christmas lights. But alas, Christmas didn’t come early for the Sleuthers, as they failed yet again to catch the liar!
We had four sparky suspects telling Xmas tales of getting hijacked in New York by someone from ‘Shaft’; a robbery in Italy during an Eat, Pray, Love experience and saved by strangers; classy dream tickets to the ballet followed by self-sabotage; and a life changing pregnancy reveal only to be saved by the local vicar.
The Sleuthers were not shy: they wanted answers. And they got them (only we know how it ends, so they didn't really help much!). Matt, when you got into that cab with 'Leather and Fur', what were the seating arrangements? Elina, why did the Ukrainians stop at McDonalds so much? And How did you charge RMB to your WeChat account? Ilana, how many acts were in the ballet and why don't you remember what ballet company you saw? Sam, if the town was so small, how come the vicar didn't already know you both?
The only thing to get the attention of the Sleuthers after their 2-mins conferring was the 'deflating balloon' sound made popular in Ilanas story. Votes were cast. Elina and her Italian robbery/Eat, Pray, Love story was voted least likely to be lying. Followed by Sam and 'his' immaculate conception being prayed away in the Surrey church. Then it was Matt and his bizarre late night tourist experience with 'Shaft'. Leaving Ilana and her ballet upgrade sabotage story deemed the most likely to be lying.
The drumrolls pounded the tables and shrieks of delight and surprise rang out as Sam stepped forward to claim his victory as the Perfect Liar at the final show of 2019. That brings the score 2-1 to the Suspects.
Poor Sleuthers, they'll just have to try again in a re-match on January 17th 2020 at the New Year Cheer Show.
