FAQs
When do tickets go on sale?
Usually the day immediately after the monthly show, on the Shows page of this website. Be prepared: they sell out fast! Get reminders about when tickets are going on sale by signing up to the Mailing List for your Perfect Liars Club city.
The show's sold out - can I still come?
Advance tickets often sell out fast. But even if they're sold out, you can still come to the show! A limited number of tickets will be available on the door. Get there early.
Why don't you use a bigger venue?
We don't want it to be too big: the intimacy is part of the charm. People need to be able to ask their questions. And we need to be able to count those votes!
I can't use my tickets. Can I get a refund?
That depends on the third party ticket vendor - please go directly through them as we have no direct control over this.
How do I guarantee a good seat?
Buy a ticket in advance and get there early since there are no seating reservations. Sometimes we will offer a limited number of guaranteed seats for an extra cost, so look out for these.
Why don't you film the stories and put them online like other shows do?
It's an of-the-moment thing. You need to be there. (Plus people may not necessarily want their exploits broadcast far and wide). Individuals can feel free to film their own stories if they want. The Washington DC show is experimenting with a podcast.
How can I tell a story?
Anyone with a good story about something unlikely-sounding that happened to them (or allegedly happened to them) can volunteer to participate. And please do - help us make Perfect Liars Club fabulous. It's better to have seen a show before performing so you have a feel for the format. If your story pitch sounds like it will work, we'll email you to identify a performance date, and we'll agree the story at that time. We'll set up a call with you about 1-2 weeks before the show (about 20 minutes) where you'll perform your story on the phone, and we'll listen, time it, and provide feedback/coaching/etc to help make the story Perfect Liars-ready!
What makes a good story?
Can I put on a Perfect Liars Club show in my city?
Maybe. You need to have performed at Perfect Liars Club first. Then approach the MC and we can discuss it.

What makes a good story?
- You are the star of the story: it's about something that happened (or allegedly happened) to you
- It's focused on describing one specific incident and what happened, rather than personal introspection
- It's about something unusual/unlikely-sounding/bizarre that happened to you that sounds suspiciously like it could be a lie
- It's funny, and not about too serious or heavy a topic - the audience has to feel comfortable laughing and interrogating you
- It has sufficient logistics that there are objective details to question, and it's reasonable that you'd remember them (beware of young childhood stories)
- There's a crescendo
- It's 6-7 minutes long
