Perfect Liars Club Show - 2nd December 2013 at the Science Club
It was high suspense at Perfect Liars Club in December 2013 as our key storytellers' rule was contravened: don't give Layla a heart attack. One of our four suspects did not turn up! The horror. At 6:55pm a state of emergency was declared. Layla pulled out one of her two emergency stories (one true, one a lie) and took to the stage as the fourth storyteller, while Roz was promoted from bouncer/doorlady to emcee - and it all went swimmingly!
The four suspects of the evening were Anna Marie Trester, Joe Bittick, Ritija Gupta... and of course Layla. After our scientific randomization procedure, Layla was first up, with a suspicious story about her first ever internet date. Next up, Joe tried to persuade us about an unfortunate incident with some explosives in Afghanistan. Third on, Ritija claimed that her misguided attempt to emulate J-Lo's hairstyle ended very badly indeed. And finally, Anna Marie tried to make us believe that she had smuggled a radio psychic into her office... After some vigorous questioning, few audience members suspected either the innocent-looking Joe or Ritija, while Layla and Anna Marie were both highly suspect, with an equal number of votes. When the audience was forced to narrow down, the psychic story was deemed the most likely to be a lie... and then, the liar was revealed: Ritija! Gasps all round! Ritija was crowned December 2013's Perfect Liar.
