Perfect Liars Club on November 2nd 2018 at Good Heavens, Tokyo
What an utter BLAST!! And that was just the force of the noise as the room erupted when the fourth Perfect Liar of 2018 casually stepped forward to a SOLD OUT crowd.
This was a Halloween theme, so the audience were expecting the stories to be a little eerie and that’s what they got. The Suspects gave us, ‘Lek the Weirdo’ and his interest in autopsies, a midnight flit to escape the too-keen gun-wielding travelling businessman, a semi-naked dash to escape a plumber with no tools, and a tale of forced cross dressing as a Star Wars character.
The Sleuth Booth interviewees were hilariously wrong and Sleuthers divulged their suspicions in convinced seriousness! 2 Suspects were favourites as the liars (both of which I can tell you now were not the actual liar). Would the Sleuthers change their minds after the interrogation?
The interrogation was thoughtful, steady and FUN. The questions kicked off hard with Fergal and his ‘Lek the Weirdo’ encounter, ending with deep suspicion of the lovely Ellen and her escape from the travelling gun man. What happened to the kids after the coffee shop, Fergal? How did the gunman know your hotel room number, Ellen? Kai, why was your towel so small? Buc, your story just jumped from meeting a woman and then you were married, explain that jump?
Oh, the Sleuthers thought they had the liar cornered. They were sure of it. Fergal and his tale of the over friendly, death loving Lek came in as the least likely to be lying, almost joint second was Buc and his forced poor cross dressing attempt at Princess Lea and Kai, and her face-off with a tool-less plumber while naked under a trenchcoat, which left Ellen with double the votes because of her age-alert filled story doing a midnight flit from the gun-wielding businessman. Oh, the Sleuthers were certain it was Ellen….
The drumroll oozed high tension. “Would the liar of Halloween Edition 2018 please step forward”, the Suspects teased. Ellen and Kai were front stage ……”NOW!”
The Sleuthers were confused for a millisecond, and then Kai casually stepped further forward. The BLAST of energy from the Sleuthers was overwhelming and deafening. I thought I would explode. Screams of joy and screams of disappointment consumed the room, but oh dear, they’d been tricked yet again.
Well done, Kai, our fourth Perfect Liar of 2018. Will the Suspects beat the Sleuthers at the Anniversary Xmas Edition on 1st December? Who knows, but I can’t wait!! Buy tickets here.
